  • Where in Colorado do you buy Stair Lifts?

We will install anywhere in the state of Colorado!

How do I know if the Stair Lift is the right fit for me?

You can always call and talk to a professional to size up the right machine for you. A staff member would be happy to discuss what you're looking to do with the Stair Lift to make sure you have the right machine for not only your size but also your usage.

What is the weight limit for Stair Lift rental?

We have multiple Stair Lift Options with limits up to 600lbs so your weight should be under the limit for that particular machine. Additionally, you should pay attention to height requirements so you aren't scunched on a machine just becuase you're under the weight limit. We can make recommendations to meet your comfort level and price point.

How long will a Stair Lift battery last?

A battery charges on its own when not in use and on the charging strip at the top or bottom of the stairs. This requires no maintenance or action. If you have a power outage or emergency such as a fire, the Stair Lift will go up and down the stairs approximately 40 times before needing to be recharged.

Does the Stair Lift need to be plugged in?

Yes it does. The machine functions on batteries inside the chassis but they recharge from the wall. Any normal three pronged outlet will be sufficient. We do not need special electrical requirements.

Is there a seat belt on the Stair Lift?

Yes there is. You are not required to use the seat belt for the Stair Lift to function though. If you want to use the seat belt it is at your disposal or we can remove it entirely if you wish.

What's the difference between a Chair Lift and a Stair Lift?

Nothing. Those terms are used interchangeably.

I'm concerned about the railing - will the Stair Lift hit or block the railing?

In most cases this is not an issue at all. We install these specifically in your home so we can avoid railings. In extreme cases (not at all common) we may need to switch sides of the stairs for installation or remove the railing. It is very uncommon but your installation team will discuss it with you if it is a problem before moving forward.

Does Insurance cover Stair Lift purchases?

Your insurance MAY cover your Stair Lift but Mobility Plus will not bill insurance. That is a question for your insurance company and your policy. Typically, people purchase the machine privately from us and then apply for reimbursement from insurance but you should connect with your insurance company first before booking.

What if I have it installed and don't like it or don't want it?

We would strongly recommend our rental options if there's a doubt in your mind. We also have models available in our Showroom to test drive before you buy. If you have it installed and change your mind please contact us to discuss options.

Is there somewhere I could try or test drive Stair Lifts?

Yes, our showroom offers examples that you can physically ride and try before making the purchase. We highly recommend it if you've never seen or used one yourself.

Can I pay cash for a Stair Lift purchase?

    Yes absolutely.

Do you ever buy back Stair Lifts if we no longer need it?

We do! If you know it's going to be less than 13 months we recommend our rental programs. However, life happens and so does the unexpected so if you find you no longer need a purchased stair lift that we installed we will make you an offer based on time, usage, etc. We will make you an offer at that time along with removal services.

Do you offer refunds for Stair Lifts?

We do not. We have standard models that we keep in stock at all times. Once that machine has been installed we will not refund any portion of the purchase. If you order an HD or curved stair lift we will not refund any portion once that Special Order has been placed. That is a specailzed machine or custom railing so we won't be able to re-purpose that custom order.

Should I rent or buy a Stair Lift?

This question typically comes down to timeline and usage. If you think you're going to have to use a Stair Lift for more than 13 months then you should consider purchasing.

Do you have any Stair Lifts with lithium ion batteries?

We do not. All of our Stair Lifts contain Lead Acid batteries.

Can I book a Stair Lift rental online?

Yes absolutely. Our inventory is online and available to 24/7 with real time updates of our inventory so you can book anything you want whenever you want. A representative will contact you during normal business hours to confirm your reservation once it is set.

Can I book a Stair Lift installation over the phone?

You may book over the phone. If you'd like to talk to a live person a team member would be happy to discuss and book for you during normal business hours.

Do you offer same day Stair Lift Installations?

We do offer same day installation in most cases. In the unique case that we can not we will work to find a solution for you.

Do you offer any credit from my Stair Lift rental if I wish to purchase?

Yes we do! We will credit you back half of your rental towards the purchase of a Stair Lift if you decide you would like to purchase instead of rent.

How do I know if the Stair Lift will fit my stairs?

You'll get a phone consultation with a representative before your reservation is made official. Then, day of installation, the installation team will Validate your project before doing an installation to make absolutely sure the project will work before installing.

What if I have a landing on my stair case?

A straight Stair Lift can still be used in these cases but we would actually need to install two separate stair lifts. That means someone using the machine would need to be able to transfer from one to the other safetly for this solution to be an option. If not, then we can discuss installing a curved stair lift. We acknowledge that curved stair lifts are more costly than a combination of straight stair lifts so if this is a possibility we will certainly review the option with you.

How long does it take to install?

From the time we ring your door bell to the time we drive off will be approximately 3 hours or less for a single straight Stair Lift. Curved or multiple straight stair lifts will take longer.

How are the Stair Lifts installed?

They are mounted directly to the stairs themselves NOT to the wall or railing. If you have carpet or other covering it will be mounted through the carpet and into the stairs. This WILL cause minimal damage to the stairs in the form of drill holes that are typically easily filled or covered though Mobility Plus will not do any of these repairs or modifications.

Do you offer Outdoor Stair Lifts?

We offer Stair Lifts that are permitted inside a garage and true outdoor stair lifts. True outdoor Stair Lifts have different assembly and protections to protect from the elements. We do offer Outdoor Stair Lifts for purchase or perhaps one of our Ramps or Vertical Platform Lifts would be appropriate.

My stairs are extra long or extra short is that an option for a Stair Lift?

It is an option! There may be additional costs for particularly long stair wells but those tend to be special cases. In most cases of both short and long stairwells it remains the same price but we reserve the right to charge for additional railing when needed in long stair wells.

What brands of Stair Lifts do you do?

We strongly prefer Harmar though we are dealers for multiple brands. There are pros and cons of any brand but Harmar has proven to be the most reliable for us and their tech and parts teams are top notch when we do need parts for a repair. We highly recommend Harmar over any other brand.

Are there safety features on your Stair Lifts?

Yes there are. They come standard with a seat belt and a foot sensor plate in case something (or a someone like a pet) is left on the stairs. We can add key and additional sensor options if there is concern about unauthorized use or if there are children or animals that like to hang out on the stairs.
